[It takes Auron slightly more than an hour because of subway hopping, but he does get to the shop. His shades are firmly in place once again. No need to cause a scene in public, after all.]
Hey. What did you need me for? Something you need to pass on to my boss?
[Auron is immediately alerted that this scenario could go two ways. Number one, the normal way, where he helps someone do legitimate business. Number two, he's going to be held up.
Well sucks to be this guy because Auron only has about 2000 yen on him. He's also been trained in disarming people. It would be much smarter to walk away. But he knows he has to test himself. If he can defend himself here, it's more confidence to when he has to face the Four.
So he might hesitate for a few seconds, but he follows Iwai in the back, ready for damn near anything.]
[Iwai, if he was a few years younger and didn't have a kid of his own, might have considered doing just that. Even 2000 yen was more than enough sometimes, especially if someone wanted to buy a hooker or a stripper.
Sitting down at his desk, he pointed to a chair nearby.]
[Auron doesn't mind the conversation. He'll take all of his true motives to the grave, but giving harmless day-to-day info won't hurt. Anyone can figure that out just by watching him.]
Think he's still trying to settle on theme. For now he's settled on more of a American kind of feel, which I'm pretty sure is why he hired me. I think it's also why he occasionally has people who want to cause trouble. Probably because they think all American bars are full of biker gangs.
[It is kind of amusing to watch someone try and figure out his own culture and interpret it in different ways.]
Pretty sure he's getting his information from shady as hell sources. But he's all right. Said that he used to be something called...yakuza. He explained that it's kind of like high level gangs or something, but that he got sick of the life and wanted to bail. But still wanted some kind of weird excitement in his life so he opened the bar.
[He shrugs, as though it's no consequence to him. He's just glad he's not doing too bad with the unscrewing of the gun with only one eye.]
No, but it's probably a lot safer. Laws are kinda different with firearms, now that I've been here a while, so it makes sense why Hideo wants a few copies. Just to gently discourage people from cause trouble.
Most of the time.
[There, that's another bunch of screws done on the gun. This actually isn't so bad, the more he works.]
[Auron is glad he didn't get mugged so doesn't think Iwai is up to anything, other that trying to suss him out.]
Yeah, I can see that. And it'd put you behind if they screwed you up.
[His phone rings at that moment and Auron picks it up out of his jacket. It's an alarm, actually, for him to get his ass out of his apartment and get to work.]
I'll have to do this last one and then I gotta get to work.

See you soon.

It's a lotta work. I can do it but gettin' some help might be a good thing. If you can spend some time helpin' me out, I'd appreciate it.

Date: 2019-03-10 03:07 am (UTC)I...guess I could do that. Haven't made anything like what you're doing before, so you'll have to show me what you need.

Come on in the back.

Get comfy. How good are you with small parts?

Date: 2019-03-13 11:53 pm (UTC)His shoulders do relax as it seems like he's not getting mugged.]
You mean putting stuff together? Probably all right. Might have to show me specifically what you want.

Date: 2019-03-19 02:34 am (UTC)[He hands him a tiny screwdriver.]
Unscrew that gun in front of you and keep the screws in a pile.

Date: 2019-03-20 12:27 am (UTC)[There are approximately too many screws in this gun and he has to hunt around for them. But the work is oddly relaxing and focused at the same time.]
So like this, right?

Date: 2019-03-30 02:28 am (UTC)[He looks at him for a moment. And then back to his own gun.]
So, what's your boss like? Seems like it's a pretty dangerous field for you to be in.

Date: 2019-03-31 05:26 pm (UTC)[Okay, he seems to have successfully taken apart this gun and he smiles a tiny bit, setting it all carefully to the side.]
Had to flip a guy over a table the other day since he wouldn't behave. Then we kicked him out.

Date: 2019-04-02 09:14 pm (UTC)That so. What kinda bar is it?
[The more casual a conversation, the more comfortable someone gets. And the more comfortable someone gets, the easier they'll let things slip.]
Sounds like a hell of a lot of trouble.

Can't say I've heard that about all American bars, tho' if he wants something scary, that'll work just fine.

Guess if you want somethin' exciting, a bar is a good place. Can't say a model gun shop is that kind of excitin', though.

Usually, tho', I'm too picky to just agree to any kinda help, y'know?

This has gotta be hell on your back.

Date: 2019-04-12 09:58 pm (UTC)[He keeps moving guns over. Keeping Auron busy was key here. Maybe he wouldn't notice exactly what Iwai was doing.]
It's too picky of a work to just let anyone do it. Especially if they don't have experience.
