[He looks at him for a moment. And then back to his own gun.]

So, what's your boss like? Seems like it's a pretty dangerous field for you to be in.

He's all right, but he runs a tight operation. Doesn't put up with people wanting to cause trouble, so it's my job to keep the peace.

[Okay, he seems to have successfully taken apart this gun and he smiles a tiny bit, setting it all carefully to the side.]

Had to flip a guy over a table the other day since he wouldn't behave. Then we kicked him out.

[Slides another gun over to him. Yup, keep working.]

That so. What kinda bar is it?

[The more casual a conversation, the more comfortable someone gets. And the more comfortable someone gets, the easier they'll let things slip.]

Sounds like a hell of a lot of trouble.

[Auron doesn't mind the conversation. He'll take all of his true motives to the grave, but giving harmless day-to-day info won't hurt. Anyone can figure that out just by watching him.]

Think he's still trying to settle on theme. For now he's settled on more of a American kind of feel, which I'm pretty sure is why he hired me. I think it's also why he occasionally has people who want to cause trouble. Probably because they think all American bars are full of biker gangs.

[It is kind of amusing to watch someone try and figure out his own culture and interpret it in different ways.]

[Iwai hums. He's an innocent looking man. Eventually, he figures, Auron will let something slip.]

Can't say I've heard that about all American bars, tho' if he wants something scary, that'll work just fine.

Pretty sure he's getting his information from shady as hell sources. But he's all right. Said that he used to be something called...yakuza. He explained that it's kind of like high level gangs or something, but that he got sick of the life and wanted to bail. But still wanted some kind of weird excitement in his life so he opened the bar.

[He shrugs, as though it's no consequence to him. He's just glad he's not doing too bad with the unscrewing of the gun with only one eye.]

...Yakuza, huh?

[Iwai pauses before thinking abotu what he should say next. Yakuza discussions are always a touchy subject with anyone.]

Guess if you want somethin' exciting, a bar is a good place. Can't say a model gun shop is that kind of excitin', though.

No, but it's probably a lot safer. Laws are kinda different with firearms, now that I've been here a while, so it makes sense why Hideo wants a few copies. Just to gently discourage people from cause trouble.

[There, that's another bunch of screws done on the gun. This actually isn't so bad, the more he works.]

[Hey, here's another gun for you. Distractions are important.]

Though some people don't give a fuck. And do whatever they want.

[Just like The Four who took down his family. Auron grows quiet for a bit, concentrating on the task at hand.]

So is it just you in this place? No other part time help?

[He hums as he keeps working on his own stuff and listening.]

Usually, tho', I'm too picky to just agree to any kinda help, y'know?

I can see that. Since all of these are custom jobs, it'd be hard to tell someone else how to make everything.

[Plus, he can kind of see how a guy like Iwai would be protective of his work, too. There, that's the next gun done.]

This has gotta be hell on your back.

[He keeps moving guns over. Keeping Auron busy was key here. Maybe he wouldn't notice exactly what Iwai was doing.]

It's too picky of a work to just let anyone do it. Especially if they don't have experience.

[Auron is glad he didn't get mugged so doesn't think Iwai is up to anything, other that trying to suss him out.]

Yeah, I can see that. And it'd put you behind if they screwed you up.

[His phone rings at that moment and Auron picks it up out of his jacket. It's an alarm, actually, for him to get his ass out of his apartment and get to work.]

I'll have to do this last one and then I gotta get to work.

Ha, alright. I guess if you wanna play hooky with me.

[But he's grinning and nods.]

Come by on your next day off. I'll probably have some more things I need some help with.

You mean you want me to work for free on my day off. Hunh.

[But he doesn't sound overly annoyed. Maybe just a little bit amused before shaking his head and doing his best to finish off the last gun.]

Hah. Well maybe if you stopped by when I didn't have to ask, I wouldn't.

[He grins and takes the parts, double checking it all.]

Alright. Thanks for your help.

Not a problem. You ever get a chance, stop by the bar. I'm sure the boss will spot you a few drinks for your help.

[He gives a bit of a wave as he leaves, trying to mentally plot which routes he needs to be on to get to work. Oddly enough, he kind of feels good? Even by doing something simple.]

Yeah. I think I'll do that.

[Well, he might as well, right? Later on that day, after he's done, he heads to the bar and moves to sit at the bar, while ordering a beer immediately.

He's thirsty, dammit.]

[The bar is decorated as though someone looked at a lot of American movies and imperfectly emulated it as best they could.

Despite the decor, it's a decent enough place and seems to have a good crowd. Auron is there, quietly making sure everything's good, occasionally tending bar if needed. He cuts a striking figure in black and a blood red shirt, which given its bulk, is probably hiding the protective vest underneath.

His boss is the more vivacious and outgoing, encouraging people to drink up and have a good time. Hideo recognizes him.]

Hey, thanks a lot for the order! Gonna help us out if we're gonna get crowds like this regularly.

Ah, yeah. No problem.

[He hums lightly as he takes a sip of his drink. God this place is gaudy. It's far too overdecorated and too much of too many things. He doesn't know what to think of it all except that it's way too much.

But he's not going to offend the guy who's giving him good money.]

Figured I'd come down since surly man over there invited me.

[Thumbing towards Auron. Teasing him as he does.]

Really? He actually talked to someone else? Hunh. Must be his voice, but he always sounds pissed about something. I think it's even worse when he uses English.

[Auron takes a moment to stroll back over to where they are. Even with his shades firmly on, he looks less than amused.]

You know I can understand you in both languages, right?

[Iwai just grins and lets out a chuckle.]

Now now, he's a fine guy. If a bit old and cranky.

[Looking at Iwai and leaning forward.]

You look good servin' drinks.

[nofarplaneyet]

[He just gives a disagreeable noise from his throat to his boss. To Iwai, who is clearly enjoying teasing him, he just shakes his head.]

Whatever. At least you get to soak in whatever atmosphere this is and enjoy drinks that taste better than their surroundings would have you believe.

[His boss gripes back equally.]

Hey! We are doing amazing for ourselves and we're starting to get popular. More money for both of us.

[Auron looks like he has a few more words for that, but hears something above the crowd noise to go stop a problem before it becomes something bigger.]

[He lets out a laugh as he looks from Auron to where the noise is coming from. He knows better than to go chase problems.

He'll just wait for Auron to come back, continuing to drink and keeping his eye on everything around here.]
